is proud to be one of 13 universities participating in the EcoCAR EV Challenge.

The four-year competition challenges teams to apply advanced propulsion systems, automation, and vehicle connectivity technologies to the 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ, all while balancing decarbonization, energy efficiency, and customer-centric design.
Providing students with interactive training, industry presentations, and hours and hours of real-world, hands-on experience, McMaster EcoCAR cultivates the next generation of engineers.

is the latest of the Advanced Vehicle Technology Competition (AVTC) series, which was established by the U.S. Department of Energy 34 years ago.

SEPTEMBER

McMaster EcoCAR attends club fest, faculty fest, and hosts two information sessions at the start of the term for recruitment.

OCTOBER

In the Development Challenge, students are tasked with solving any one of 5 challenges related to a subteam—PCM, Mechanical, CAVs, Electrical, or HMI.

The team gauges which students demonstrate interest and invites them to join.

November & Onward

Students who wish to join and show passion about the project can reach out to be evaluated for a fit.
