EiM Team

The Equity in Mobility team at McMaster EcoCAR ensures that the team is fair and equitable to the team members, contributes to the community surrounding McMaster EcoCAR, and expands the access of electric vehicle careers/culture to all people.

The job has 2 main facets: community outreach and team inclusivity.

Community outreach takes form in working with groups to create public work projects to support underserved communities. The goal is to extend outreach to all people regardless of their gender, racial background, immigration status, and religious beliefs), so they can feel the benefits of the electric vehicle revolution. The team is currently engaged in community outreach efforts at the high school level through FIRST robotics and working with student groups that support underserved communities.

Team inclusion takes the form of working to promote EcoCAR culture while ensuring its inclusivity. EcoCAR has cultivated a culture over 30 years of AVTC. The DEI team recognizes that they are working to improve a rich culture. They aim ensure that team members feel safe in the team, recruitment standards are equitable, and every member feels supported.
